Vert Development – For Skaters With a Strong Foundation
This program is designed for athletes who already have a solid base in vert skating and are ready to progress further.
Vert skating is a critical discipline in high-level park development. It builds speed generation, air awareness, coping control, commitment, and technical precision — all essential skills for skaters progressing into advanced park riding, bowl competitions, and future competitive pathways.
When trained properly, vert develops:
- Stronger pumping and height control
- Advanced aerial mechanics
- Confidence skating at increased speed and amplitude
- Technical coping approach and exit
- Mental resilience and commitment
For skaters with long-term goals, vert is not optional — it is foundational to becoming a well-rounded transition athlete.
Why Train Vert at LVLUP?
LVLUP provides one of the most structured and progressive vert environments available. With small group ratios (1:6–7), athletes receive focused coaching and technical correction to ensure safe and measurable improvement.
Our coaching philosophy emphasises:
- Correct technique before height
- Progressive skill benchmarks
- Controlled exposure to speed and amplitude
- Clear development pathways from foundation to elite
Vert skating requires precision. Being coached correctly ensures athletes build confidence safely and avoid developing poor habits that limit long-term progression.
Entry Requirements
This program is not for beginner skaters.
Participants must:
- Have a strong foundation in vert
- Be able to pump to the top of the vert ramp
- Turn confidently at the top of the ramp
- Drop in unassisted
If a skater does not meet these requirements, they may be redirected to a more suitable class to maintain safety and progression standards.
If you are unsure whether your child is ready, please contact us prior to enrolling.
Progression Levels
To ensure safe and structured development, athletes are grouped into the following levels:
FOUNDATION
For skaters who can confidently perform:
- Drop-ins
- Controlled turning
- Fakie ollies
- Consistent pumping to height
Focus: building consistency, improving height confidence, and refining technique.
EMERGING
For skaters developing confidence in:
- Backside ollies
- Frontside ollies
- Air variations
- 50-50s
- Rock to fakies
Focus: advancing aerial control and coping precision.
Vert skating is one of the most technical and rewarding areas of skateboarding. With the right coaching and structured progression, it becomes a powerful platform for long-term success in park and transition skating.
We look forward to supporting your child’s continued development at LVLUP this term.
