4:00PM – Beginner Vert Development
This program is the official entry point into Vert skating at LVLUP and is designed for committed skaters who are ready to take the next step beyond mini ramp progression.
Vert skating is a critical component of high-level park development. It builds speed control, air awareness, coping confidence, commitment, and technical precision — all essential elements for athletes progressing into competition pathways, outdoor bowls, and high-performance park skating.
Training on vert develops:
- Stronger pumping and speed generation
- Confidence skating at height
- Air control and landing mechanics
- Coping approach and exit technique
- Mental resilience and commitment
These foundations are vital for skaters with long-term goals in park competition and future events, including pathways toward Brisbane 2032.
Why Train Vert at LVLUP?
LVLUP provides one of the most structured and progressive vert development environments available. Our facility allows athletes to safely build confidence before transferring skills to full vert, under the supervision of experienced high-performance coaches.
We focus on:
- Correct technique from the beginning
- Safe, progressive exposure to height
- Small group ratios (1:6–7) for quality coaching
- Clear skill benchmarks and structured progression
This is not simply “having a go” on vert — it is technical development delivered in a controlled and professional setting.
Eligibility Requirements
This class is not suitable for beginner skaters or first-time ramp riders.
To enrol, athletes must:
- Be LVL 3 in our lesson system or
- Attend a minimum of two half-days per week in our Academy or
- Attend two after-school lessons per week
AND
- Be able to confidently skate the 5ft–7ft mini ramp and/or Resi ramp independently and without assistance
These requirements ensure that all participants can safely manage speed and height before progressing to vert.
If a skater enrols and does not meet the criteria, their place will be withdrawn and fees refunded to maintain the safety and progression standard of the group.
Vert skating requires commitment, confidence, and the right environment. When introduced at the correct stage and coached properly, it becomes one of the most powerful tools for long-term development in skateboarding.
If you are unsure whether this class is suitable for your child, we encourage you to contact us to discuss their current level before enrolling.
We look forward to supporting your child’s progression into vert skating this term.
